Two big things:
There will be a reception for Rodney Tom at Sammamish High School from 7:00-8:00pm on Thursday [ official info ]. I will be going because it's important and he needs support from youth. It's only an hour long, so you should come, too! Here is why:- Dan Savage backs him [ link ] because the fight for marriage equality needs to be fought in the suburbs, not on Capitol Hill-- hello, who's going to run in the 43rd District on an anti-gay platform? There's just no challenge there. It's obviously not going to be an issue on a federal scale for some time (too much red tape); however, a state supreme court decision is imminent, and they might chicken out and shunt the decision onto the legislature. The 48th District could be key to winning this vote.
- We need to replace the incumbent Luke Esser with someone who would vote the right way. Esser is the main Republican opponent to gay rights legislation -- he's a driving force behind the Defense of Marriage Act and has tried to block the Anderson-Murray Anti-Discrimination Bill. Basically Esser is ftl for many reasons.
- Tom used to be a Republican, but changed with the times. Even when he was Republican, he voted against his party in favor of the transportation tax. Having a candidate who is not super-stuck in his ways is incredibly important. We need to support that.
- He's an advocate of reproductive rights -- he supports Planned Parenthood and NARAL.
- He voted to make it easier to levy taxes to support public schools.
The other thing! My summer goals include a redecoration of my living area. I would like your help. The general plan is that you will come over and we will have a paint party. Some stuff has to be taken care of before you do that, and so I would like to know when you will be away that I might capture as many of you in the net as possible and plan the events leading up to it. ♥ This weekend is not available (con!) but possibly next weekend or the weekend after that. Let me know via cell phone, email, or a direct reply to this.

My plans for the future are humble but heartwarming.
That contraption will bring freedom in every sense of the word, but most notably the freedom to be who I am, and the freedom for you to be who you are. The world will unfold below us onto new horizons, each of which will be more neon than the last. Even the sunshine will be more vivid when I'm with you.
These will be the memories I treasure when I'm too old to make new ones.
I can't wait.

I'm desperately curious today.
There's a huge photo post coming, te promiso. I've resized something around 100 pictures so far. I didn't take many pictures over the time I was gone. But what few I have and what few others have taken will be combined with commentary and an incomplete narrative as to why I dropped off the face of the internet. (It's actually not a very good story. Perhaps I'll make something up? I promise there'll be lasers. To the face.)
p.s. local kids: we're organizing a game of 'bigger and better;' the date is. . . tbd. We're thinking this weekend, maybe the weekend after that? People who are interested so far:

It'll be pretty okay, you guys. There's even a way to get awkward comment notifications! It's also the last day to order shirts for a while, so if you haven't emailed your order in yet, do that now! I'm so. . . sick of this place I'm at right now.
I'm at a school where people dislike me (or worse, don't care one way or another.) I don't understand chemistry at all and the people I love are far away. [Vanessa, there is nobody here as strong, smart, brilliant, hilarious, beautiful as you are. I miss you unbelievably. My brother from another mother should already know he's missed.] My boyfriend already wearies of me; I guess I can't compare. Ordinarily I'd be unable to focus, too busy going to parties, too busy hanging out with friends to do my homework. But so far I've turned in every assignment. My back hurts from all the books I have to carry home. I'm gained three pounds (at least), and have the same number of big tests tomorrow. A mysterious pain has erupted in my ribs that makes it hurt to breathe (this is possibly related to the carrying-every-book-in-the-library-all-the-way-home incident this afternoon.) I have poured a broken, warped heart into another person's hands, which in retrospect was a completely moronic move.
So. . .
Basically I'm on the edge of a breakdown. Been having mini-freakouts to let off the steam, to delay-- whatever will happen when I reach the edge.
The pain I feel is that of every human; I know; I know. I'll get over it; I know; I know. But that doesn't change that right now I am neither beautiful enough, nor clever enough, nor good enough for anyone.
Seeing you once a week is not enough you to recharge me. I don't think you understand this.
I've disabled comments because I really don't care what any of you have to say right now. I will answer my phone if you are willing to brave the beast, I suppose.

I have had to delete the comment-and-tell-me-things meme due to an (angry? saddened? frustrated? overprotective?) phone call from the mother of one offended chica. Oh, e-drama. You know you love it. It is my continued wish that we can live unconflicting because. . . I have better things to do. Who else will read my friends list, with me dropped off the internet?
Also, here is a video commentary from when Tyler & Thad were staying at Bijan's house last week. That frog has taken quite a beating.
Today a milkshake adventure has been planned (do you all know what that means?! Because I sure don't).
Ahhhh. My back is pink from the hairdye, even though I worked so hard to not get it on me.
